It's a well kept secret. The error message you received is what happens
when the HPNP software cannot get print server status information via
SNMP (port 161). This does NOT prevent you from using HP Print Server
emulation on port 9100 if the printer supports it (I'm too lazy to
check). Try renameing /bin/getone to something else. This is the SNMP
command used to get the status info. If the binary is missing, HPNP
assumes that the printer is always ready. It might work, but I still
prefer and recommend netcat.
